How is Lee Kang-in going to win?…3rd place in PSG history, ending rumors of release “I never thought of that.”
Randal Colomouni said he does not plan to leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) right now.
With the 2023-2024 season to come, PSG has brought in two big-name strikers. He had Gonzalo Hamus, who was active in Benfica, and Colo Muani, who showed outstanding performances in Frankfurt. It was PSG’s decision as there were no traditional strikers.
PSG invested a whopping 95 million euros (W139.2 billion) to bring in Colomuani. It will remain the third highest fee ever paid by PSG. There was a lot of expectation because he showed such outstanding performance in Frankfurt, but Colomuani came to PSG and was reduced to the bench.
Even in his first season, he did not play many games as a starter. He mostly played as a substitute, scoring nine goals and six assists throughout the season. It was not the performance he expected from a player who invested 95 million euros.
PSG coach Luis Enrique seems to have lost confidence in Colomuani. He used Hamus as the starting player early this season. When Hamus left the club due to a fractured ankle, Enrique began to use fake striker tactics.
Marco Asensio was the main player at first, but now Lee Kang-in is playing more as a starter. Lee Kang-in is already leading the competition for the main player with six goals and one assist. By comparison, Colo Moani has only two goals for the season. In response, it has been said that Colo Moani is dissatisfied with the playing time and is seeking a transfer. From PSG’s point of view, the rumor of the sale was strengthened because Colo Moani’s playing time could be further reduced when Hamus returns.
Florian Flettenberg, a reporter working for Germany’s Sky Sports on the 3rd (비아마켓 time), said on his personal SNS, “Colo Muani’s transfer is no longer excluded in the upcoming winter transfer market. PSG and Colo Muani are open to options to play regularly. There are already several loan requests from English Premier League clubs with the option of purchasing Colo Muani.”
However, it seems that it was not true that Colomuani is considering a transfer. “It is up to me to keep trying to make him trust me. I have always tried, and things have never gone by easily. I have to work harder and give a good impression when Enrique calls me,” Colomuani said in an interview with French broadcaster L’Equipe on Monday.
Regarding recent reports that he is about to leave PSG, Colomuani said, “No. I have never thought about a transfer. I will continue to work, show what I can do, and do my best,” adding that he will concentrate on PSG life as much as possible.
Although Colomouni has shown strong commitment to win the competition to become a starting player, Enrique is a leader who has not changed his mind well. It is hard to imagine Colomouni jumping from PSG to PSG.
